The Parliament in the Old Town of Stockholm

The Swedish Parliament is located at the island Helgeandsholmen in the Old Town of Stockholm. The Parliament buildings are the only one on the island and it's open for visitors all year around at the public gallery, for guided tours and at the art exhibitions.

The Public Gallery at the Parliament is open to all visitors when the Chamber is in session but here is more to See & Do when visiting the Parliament. There are regular guided tours where you will get the opportunity to visit a number of places in the Parliament which consists of more than 7 large building all connected by an underground tunnel. There are also regular Art Exhibitions tours where you can see the more than 4 000 Work of Arts in the Parliament.

To visit the Parliament without reservation

Without making a reservation to visit the Parliament you have the following options:

Guided tours

The guided tours are free of charge and are available in both Swedish and English. There are maximum 28 spaces at each tour and you can't make a reservation.

Art Exhibitions

An Art Exhibition tour takes approx. 90 minutes and is available in both Swedish and English. There are maximum 25 spaces at each tour and you can't make a reservation. There are normally no tours week 26-35.

The Public Gallery

The public Gallery has 500 seats and you can't make a reservation. Cloth's and bags are not allowed and has to be put in special cabinet's where a 10-kronor coins in needed to be able to open and lock the cabinet. A security check will be performed before you are allowed to enter the public Gallery.


Visit the Parliament with reservation

To visit the Parliament as a group you need to make a reservation and then you have to following options:

Guided tours for groups

The Guided Tours for groups must be reserved in advance. The number of people allowed in the group is minimum 10 and maximum 30. If you are a school class visiting Sweden the children has to be minimum 14 years old.

Art Exhibitions for groups

The Art Exhibition tours has to be booked in advance. The number of people allowed in the group is minimum 10 and maximum 30.
